Happy Wednesday! I’m over on the Minerva Crafts blog today talking about my new Datura Blouse from Deer and Doe.
The Datura Blouse from Deer and Doe is a semi-fitted sleeveless blouse with a faux-buttoned lower back. View A features a cut out neckline feature and View B features a Peter Pan collar. In my version, I took secret option view C which omitted the peter pan collar and the cut out neckline for a flat fronted sleeveless blouse.
I used some vintage buttons I had in my stash to sew up the faux-button placket. I didn’t realize it was “faux” until the very end when I realized that the button placket wasn’t interfaced. I love the look of the buttons and they aren’t necessary for function. I love how they stop just far enough from the bottom to cause the split hem look! It’s my favorite part of the top.

Beautiful top Lara! I love everything about it – the colour, the drape and shape of the top especially that faux button back and curved hem..
Thank you – I feel like this top has all my favorite features of a garment!
