Coming off of May and #MeMadeMay, June was a lot slower in the sewing department than May was. We also moved this month and I was out of town 10 days this month (for this home body, that’s a lot!). So 10 garments it was this month – which in the grand scheme of things is still pretty good! I am currently sewing machine-less as it’s in the shop, so I think July might have a slow start too!
Tops:
- Tilly Tee from Sew Caroline in Sew Caroline Art Gallery Knit
- Kalle Tunic from Closet Case Patterns in black Tencel twill from Stitch Sew Shop
- Pony Tank from Chalk and Notch in a navy rayon jersey from Imagine Gnats and then I made 2 more!
- Briar T-Shirt from Megan Nielsen in a blue rayon jersey
- Kyoto Sweater from Papercut Patterns in a light french terry from LA Finch Fabrics
- Lane Raglan from Hey June in a bamboo jersey from Hart’s fabric
Bottoms:
- Boardwalk Shorts from Sew Caroline in Sew Caroline Art Gallery Quilting Cotton
Month in Review:
Favorite –Β This was a hard choice because I really did like the majority of the items I made this month. But, if I had to choose I would pick the Kalle Tunic. I think I will make a few more of these and it’s always fun to sew things with all my sewing friends at Stitch Sew Shop!
Most Worn – Pony Tank hands down! I made three of these this month and they are amazing! Another wonderful pattern from Chalk and Notch.
Most Repeatable – This is a three way tie – The Pony Tank, The Kalle Tunic and the Lane Raglan. All are going to be made multiple times – no questions asked!
What were your favorite makes of the month? Anything you know youβre going to repeat again?
Too awesome!! How do you feel about the ease in the Kalle? I think our measurements must be similar since I’d be the same size in somethings you’ve made π I got the pattern and want to make it but I’m always nervous about loose garments because I don’t want to drown or for people to not realize I don’t fill it out! Haha more of a body image issue for me though! I imagine it depends how drapey the fabric is as well for how it flows around. You and everyone I see in them look adorable! I figure I just need to dive in.
I did see a blogger who made her two sizes down so I may attempt that with some scrap fabric… I’m also going to shorten by maybe 2″ I noticed she said it was drafted for 5’6″
Love your makes! Thanks for the new ideas for other items too!
I saw you were making one today! It did have a lot of ease – and I probably could have sized down at least one or two sizes. My fabric was super drapey so I didn’t mind it but I definitely feel like it’s a more “relaxed” look because of the ease. Can’t wait to see your finished product!
Love all your May makes Lara! Beautiful Kalle – I made one up that was a complete disaster π I think it was my FBA which I really had to do that ruined the pattern. Because of the raglan nature of the sleeve when an FBA was applied everything just went all wonky. Sad because everyone I’ve seen is simply gorgeous.
Did you try following her sew along FBA instructions? https://closetcasepatterns.com/choosing-a-size-pattern-modifications-full-bust-adjustment/
That’s such a bummer π Totally agree with Caro – did you check out her FBA instructions?
