Last week I shared about my new Waterfall Raglan from Chalk and Notch and this week I’m sharing about my new Pixie Tee – I just can’t get enough Chalk and Notch around here!
The Pattern and the Tee
The Pixie Tee and Dress is a brand new pattern from Chalk and Notch. It features two views. View A features short sleeves and a gathered hem ties. View B features long sleeves and cuff and hem bands. All the different features are interchangeable too – you can make the gathered hem ties with long sleeves and the hem bands with short sleeves.
I LOVE a good long sleeve tee/sweatshirt. I’ve had to do a ton of traveling recently and they are my go-to travel outfits. I get SO cold on the plane so it’s nice to have something long sleeve. I’ve been wearing my Going Home Sweater, Rockford Raglan and now the Pixie Tee. It’s perfect for those cold cold airplanes!
I made View B with long sleeves and the hem bands but now I can’t wait to make a tee with the ribbon hem ties. I am in love with Tami’s version – her makes and pattern/fabric pairings are always so perfect.
The best thing about the Pixie Tee is that it is currently on sale for $9 and if you were subscribed to the Chalk and Notch newsletter there was an additional coupon code that went out.
The Fabric
I am still in the middle of moving which has just been absolutely insane. I was testing this pattern as I was packing up my sewing room so I dug around my stash for a perfect fit. I had in my stash some merino wool knit from The Fabric Store and thought it would be perfect! I used this fabric which is awesome because it’s machine washable merino wool. I love the soft pink color of the fabric. It is a little bit sheer but it’s not noticeable except if I was wearing something very dark underneath it.
I have wanted to make something out of this fabric for a while and now I want a million more things out of it. It has a really nice drape but is still substantial and I love the wool texture while being machine washable. Even though expensive, I will definitely be buying more! It would also be nice for a drapey cardigan!
Thanks for swinging by today! Don’t forget to grab your copy of the Pixie Tee on sale for $9 (or using a coupon code for newsletter subscribers!)
Chalk and Notch kindly provided me with a free copy of the Pixie Tee Pattern in exchange for sewing up these garments for purposes of testing the pattern free of charge, but as always, all opinions are my own.
I think this wool is the perfect pairing, I just sewed up a green version in the same fabric! Thank you for sharing and for all of your help testing!
