It’s time for another new pattern and I’m so excited to be sharing the Serenity Sweater by Love Notions. I’ve already worn my tester version a ton and feel like it’s such a good fall wardrobe staple.

The Pattern and The Sweater
The Serenity Sweater from Love Notions is a knit sweater with a crossover front. It features multiple lengths – hip length or cropped. The hip length has both a curved and straight hem option and the cropped version has a straight back hem. I chose to sew up the hip length version with the curved hem – because I just love the silhouette of the curved hem.
I’ve seen this style sweater in ready to wear a ton and when I saw the pattern I squealed. It’s so perfect for fall layering and depending on the fabric you use it can look so different.
I sewed my version without securing the front with a button or anything but I think adding a hidden button at the crossover so that it doesn’t open up.
My Favorite Sewing Notion Saves the Day Again!
The sweater came together really quickly – I sewed mine up one morning and wore it that afternoon. The pattern recommends that you use Heat n Bond Softstretch Hem Tape (my FAVORITE sewing notion!). With or without a coverstitch machine, this makes hemming knits so much easier. Tammy recommends it in the pattern too!
The Fabric
I ordered a bunch of athletic wear fabric from Peak Fabrics a few months ago and this fabric is a Lululemon overrun. It’s bamboo rayon with a slight grey mini stripe. I love how it worked for the top. I also want to make one out of a sweater knit for a warmer fall and winter sweater!
Make sure to grab the Serenity Sweater while it’s on sale this week!
