It’s time for the Fall Fabric launch at Raspberry Creek! I was so excited to use the Fall launch as an opportunity to jump right back into sewing. For those of you new around here the cliff notes version is I had a baby in June and we moved 2 weeks later! This was exactly the motivation I needed to unpack my sewing room and get some nap time sewing in!

The Pattern and the Sweatshirt
I love love LOVE Love Notions patterns. The Rockford Raglans that I made last year [you can read about them here] are still one of the most worn handmade pieces in my wardrobe.
The Rockland Raglan is a loose fitting raglan tee with a couple of different views. There are two views – View A and B – that are fitted at the bust and then flowy through the waist and hips with the only difference being the length (shirt or tunic length). View C is a straight fitting raglan with a really fun asymmetrical overlay. View D is a straight fit with a banded hem [shown here]. All views feature a scoop neck and multiple sleeve lengths.
Similar to the Lane Raglan and the new Union Street Tee it features a full bust adjusted bodice which is a huge bonus for a lot of sewists.

I sewed up a size medium to give me a little bit of extra room [thanks baby for the extra weight 😉 ]. I think this is a perfect Fall sweatshirt.
I made so many errors when making this pattern. I first cut the fabric sideways – a mistake that I will admit I’ve made many times. Fortunately, Raspberry Creek CLUB French Terry is 4 way stretch so crisis averted! I then was so meticulous about attaching the waistband. Only to realize when I was done that the seam on the waistband is in the front instead of the back….ugh a mistake to fix another day.
All in all, this sweatshirt is a welcome addition to my handmade wardrobe! I know it’ll get lots of wears once the weather cools down a bit.

The Fabric
Raspberry Creek Fabrics is an amazing business located in Sandy, Utah. It’s always on my list to stop in and visit when I’m in Utah – plus Diana who owns it is the sweetest!
If you haven’t bought from them before, they have fabric that they print themselves along with other wovens and knits that they source elsewhere. They have two large releases of their in house printed fabric (known as CLUB fabric) in the Fall and the Spring. They just released their fall line which features tons of different collections printed on both Cotton Lycra Jersey and French Terry.
I am a sucker for their florals – ALWAYS. This fabric was #1 on my list to sew up first! The team at Raspberry Creek always does a big post on coordinates in their Facebook Group which is so helpful. I let them pick the coordinate for me as they always pick something absolutely perfect that I never would have been able to pick myself. They paired this fabric with a purple french terry and it was a perfect fit!
I have so many other fabrics on my wishlist from RCF’s new line –
- This panel fabric or these dinosaurs would be SO cute for something for my little guy.
- These forest green dots or olive green herringbone would be great as a top for me.
- These foxes need to be a little sleeper for my little guy!
Release week pricing on RCF goes through August 14th ($1 off per yard) so don’t miss it!
I received this fabric free of charge as part of the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Promo Team. As always, all opinions are my own.
