I can’t believe Will is 6 months old and that Christmas is this week. To say this year has been an eventful one would be an understatement – unfortunately sewing has taken a back seat as I’ve been adjusting to life with a baby and being a working mom, but I think 2020 will bring more sewing as I settled back into a new routine. However, I wanted to close this year out with a final challenge – Sew Family Jammies hosted by Sew Altered Style and it’s my turn on the tour!

Life with an infant means lots of lounging and so I took the challenge to be just that – let’s sew up some lounge wear! I sewed up the Rockford Raglan for me and the Footie Coverall for Will.

The Rockford Raglan is my GO TO sweatshirt. It’s awesome, super easy to sew and easy to wear. This is View D which is probably my favorite – you can see more of mine here and here. The only downside to this one was that the fabric I used was a little too drapey (and I wouldn’t recommend it…). I should have just used the french terry for the whole thing – that was a mistake overall. The french terry I used is this one from Blackbird Fabrics.

Will is a big fan of one piece rompers – which is why I picked out the Footie Coverall for him. Similar to my note above, I wish I would have used the french terry for the snap band. It would have made things a lot easier and it would have laid better.
However, I did get a lot better at snaps this time than I was with the Polo Romper I sewed a few weeks ago but man, snaps are hard! I am a snap loving mama though – I way prefer snaps to zippers [unpopular opinion!]. I’m still loving the SnapSource Snaps. I used the size 15 snaps and the snap setter tool.

I also had plans to make my husband a t-shirt [and I did] but see previous conversation about the fabric. It just was not what I was hoping for at all and was way too unstructured for his t-shirt. Bummer, but oh well! That’s the risk of buying fabric online. But, there are rarely photos of me and Will, so I was happy to steal a couple pics with him alone!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday and a happy new year! Thanks, as always, for sticking around here – even when I take breaks! I’m so thankful for each and everyone of you!
